Karl Marx (May 5, 1818 – March 14, 1883) was a German philosopher, economist, and revolutionary. He co-authored The Communist Manifesto in 1848 and wrote Das Kapital. His ideas created Marxism, which states that class struggle drives history and leads to the end of capitalism.
